At the completion of this modules, students will be able to describe lighting, ventilation, flooring systems and technology common in the poultry industry. Students will learn how poultry producers work with engineers to design efficient facilities that meet the hen’s environmental requirements.
Module 6: Efficiently Producing Eggs
Efficiency is crucial when producing eggs to feed large populations. This module describes technology used to control the hen’s environment and explains how employee-hen interactions can affect hen welfare. Students will learn the steps of egg collection and processing and the purpose of each step.
